Dear _______,

Their meeting was preordained, inasmuch as that of two future colleagues. But they were complete strangers then, and owing it to those quantum leaps in communication, they thought perhaps a warming up before the much later rendezvous was called for.
Dear xxxxxx,
Destined to work together as we are,
It's our prerogative that we shatter
The proverbial ice, and get familiar
To each other, even though presently afar.

Dear yyyyyy,
Succinctly you've worded my sentiments,
For I too believe, that in this life, friendship
Is something you can never have enough of,
And this is a neat solution to that predicament.

Thus began their camaraderie, penned down word by word, from the seemingly inconsequential chatter,
Dear xxxxxx,
Curses be to you, who devours delicacies,
While I battle to stomach this unpalatable,
Mishmash of vegetables, ill treated at that,
For god knows these cretins know no mercies.

Dear yyyyyy,
Curse your own judgement, dear friend,
For it is you who took the leap from his nest,
And now must brave through the hardships,
While I, ecstatic, shop for me and mine, to no end.

to the promise of understanding. Conversations flowed at their own slow pace, with none too hurried, and with time words gave rise to confidence, belief and faith.
Dear yyyyyy,
Laugh at me, for incredulity is intelligible,
But I am friend-zoned, as they say, by him,
The one I desire most, but too afraid to voice,
My intentions, for fear of damages so terrible.

Dear xxxxxx,
Astonished though I am, I will not deride,
For I too have rowed the same boat you're in,
Across a lake, whose ends forever elude me,
Instead I say, voice your love, casting inhibitions aside.

And so it went on, the penned companionship bloomed. Time flew by and the hour of the momentous meet struck. In the huge assemblage, they wove through to finally find each other. Eyes met, smiles exchanged, hands shook.

And that was the end.
